Answer WHY this specific program — with a real origin. The prompt asks what motivated your first-choice major. Name the concrete moment, project, or question that pulled you toward it, not "I've always loved it."

Add something not already in your application. The prompt explicitly asks for insights or experiences not elsewhere in your file. Don't restate your activities — reveal a new dimension of your interest.

Writing "I've always been passionate about [major]" with no origin or evidence. UC's prompt asks what MOTIVATED your choice and for something not already in your application — so a generic passion statement that restates your activities misses it. Name the specific spark and show you've actually pursued the field.
