1. Who We Are

I'mAdmitted ("we," "us," or "our") operates an AI-powered essay feedback platform. We help high school students improve their college application essays through AI-generated analysis and feedback. Our service is not an admissions consulting service and does not guarantee any admissions outcomes.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Essay content: Text you paste into our scoring tool, submitted voluntarily for AI analysis.
• Account information: Email address and password if you create an account.
• Payment information: Billing details processed by Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers.
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, browser type, device type, and IP address — collected automatically via cookies and server logs.
• School and prompt selections: The school and essay prompt you select when using the scoring tool.

We do not collect your name, date of birth, GPA, test scores, or other admissions application data unless you voluntarily provide it.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Deliver AI-generated essay feedback and scoring results.
• Process payments and manage your subscription.
• Improve our AI models using anonymized and aggregated data only.
• Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets) and, if you opt in, product updates.
• Maintain security, detect fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your essay content for advertising purposes.

4. AI Processing and Data Retention

Essay text you submit is sent to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) for processing. OpenAI's data handling is governed by their own privacy policy. As of our last review, OpenAI does not use API-submitted content to train their models by default.

Retention periods:

• Essay content: Retained up to 30 days for debugging and quality review, then permanently deleted.
• Account data: Retained during your active account and deleted within 90 days of account closure upon request.
• Payment records: Retained 7 years as required by financial regulations.
• Anonymized usage analytics: Retained indefinitely in non-identifiable, aggregated form.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at the address below.

5. Children and Minors (COPPA & CCPA)

Many of our users may be under 18. Here is how we handle minor user data:

• Under 13: Our service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 13. If we discover we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately. Contact us if you believe this has occurred.
• Ages 13–17: Users ages 13–17 may use our service. Parents or guardians may contact us to review, correct, or delete their minor child's data.
• California minors (CCPA): California residents under 18 may request removal of content they have publicly posted. As we do not publish user essay content publicly, this right is satisfied by default. For other California privacy rights, contact us directly.

6. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies required for the service to function (session management, authentication). We may use analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage patterns. We do not use advertising or behavioral tracking cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect functionality.

7. Data Sharing

We share data only with:

• OpenAI: Essay text for AI processing (see Section 4).
• Stripe: Payment processing.
• Hosting providers: Infrastructure providers bound by confidentiality agreements.
• Law enforcement: When required by valid legal process.

We do not share data with colleges, universities, or college admissions organizations of any kind.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information; opt out of any sale of personal information (we do not sell data); and request a portable copy of your data. Contact us to exercise these rights. We respond within 30 days.

9. Security

We use HTTPS encryption, secure API key storage, and access controls. No internet transmission is 100% secure, but we are committed to protecting your information using commercially reasonable means.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. For material changes, we will provide notice via email or a prominent site notice.
