Avoid pairings like "Music and Business" without explaining HOW musical training shapes your business leadership philosophy. Anchor your assignment in FSU's actual resources. The hands-on assignment is where you demonstrate knowledge of FSU's distinctive assets. Ground it in something real: UROP (the year-long undergraduate research program open to first- and second-year students), The Ringling's museum or arts administration operations, Capitol-proximity policy internships, a named research center, or an FSU honors initiative. A generic assignment that could happen at any university signals you haven't done your homework on what makes FSU uniquely positioned.

Treat yourself as an intellectual partner, not a program participant. FSU Honors created the Signature Course format as its program capstone—by asking you to design one, the school signals it wants intellectual collaborators, not just enrollees. Your essay should reflect this partnership mindset.
