Vague praise about "intellectual community" or "beautiful campus" signals you haven't differentiated Vassar from fifty other colleges. Show you know what makes Vassar tick.

Connect your interests to Vassar's DNA. Vassar prides itself on progressive values, creative expression, and independent thinking. Rather than listing activities, explain how Vassar's emphasis on co-curricular life, interdisciplinary learning, or student agency directly fuels your goals. For example, if you're a writer interested in social justice, explain how Vassar's arts-and-activism infrastructure specifically unlocks your potential--not just that you want to write.
